Die-off is worse as drought enters year four

With hundreds of dead or dying pine trees dotting the hillsides of Mariposa County, residents are faced with the task of what to do with trees, which can be a huge fire hazard.
The Forestry and Fuels Management Committee of the Mariposa County Resource Conservation District is sponsoring a free workshop on pine tree mortality on Saturday, April 18 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Mariposa County Fairgrounds in Building A.
