Davis BryantOn April 2 of this year, the U.S. Mint announced it would be releasing 10 million “W” mint quarters for the first time.
The “W” is a mint mark, symbolizing where that specific coin was made. “W” symbolizes that the coin was minted at the West Point Mint in New York. These new coins will make up about 1 percent of the total circulating quarters produced this year.
