Ted Law

Ted Law, 67, of Mariposa, passed away on March 24 with family by his side, in the loving care of Hinds Hospice in Fresno. A blessing to both Ted and his family.

Ted was born in Pasadena, Calif., spending his early years and working life in the area. He worked for many years at a business in Southern California, Ben Smith Construction until his retirement. Along the way, being the jack of all trades that he was, he drove as a courier, made doughnuts, had his own car repair shop, worked as a mover, and seasonal firefighter among other adventures. At his father’s request, he moved to Mariposa in 2003 to be of help and comfort as dad battled cancer. He spent his remaining life here in the company of family and friends, enjoying country life to its fullest.

Ted loved camping, hiking, working outdoors and wandering outdoors. He loved the desert, Joshua Tree and the mountains, Mt. Lowe, being a favorite. He maintained special, long held friendships from childhood, neighborhood and school. In fact, he had many who he called “friend.”

Ted was preceded in death by his father, Gary Law in 2004 and is survived by his mother, Patricia Law, his sister, Cindy Rowney and his children, April Law and Bryan Law.

There will be a funeral mass followed by a graveside service on Saturday, Sept. 19 at 11 a.m. at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church, 4985 Bullion Street, Mariposa.

Due to Covid-19, we will be unable to gather after the services but the celebration of Ted’s life will carry on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
