Supervisors hand reins to CAL FIRE

Some volunteers balk at terms of the contract

It’s been almost three years in the making.
And not without controversy.
But on Tuesday, the Mariposa County Board of Supervisors approved a one-year contract with CAL FIRE to take over command and control of Mariposa County Fire.
The agreement also includes dispatch services as well as the Extended Fire Protection Availability Services (Amador) agreement for CAL FIRE to man the Usona station on a year-round basis.
Total cost of the agreement is not to exceed $1,260,561.
