Stingy defense leads Lady Griz over foes

Stingy defense has led to big basketball wins for Trace DeSandres and his athletes.

The Mariposa County High School Grizzlies crushed the Orestimba Warriors in girls basketball last Tuesday in Mariposa.

MCHS held Orestimba to just 6 points in the first half, and only gave up 1 point in the second quarter.

MCHS’s Milea Appling scored 17 points despite being double teamed the entire game and at times triple teamed. Alex Williams added 9 points and 6 blocks to fuel the MCHS defense.
