Rodger Cook

Rodger “Doyle” Cook, was born on December 3, 1946 in Merced, Calif., to the late Claudia Cook and the late Harmon Cook and passed away at age 72 on May 11, 2019, in Fresno, Calif.

Doyle grew up in Merced and attended Merced High School. He was a star track and field athlete.

Later in life he moved to Midpines.

Doyle was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a professional motorcycle racer by trade.

Doyle was preceded in death by his daughter, Sherry “Cookie” Cook; and sister, Gale Cook.

He is survived by his son, Rodger Cook Jr. (Ester) of Bakersfield, Calif.; daughters, Stephanie Corcoran (Robert) of Tacoma,

Wash. and Denise Cook of Nevada; brother, Dale Cook and ex-wife Terry Robinson; grandchildren, Kodie Null, Jacob Cook, Matthew Cook, Samantha Cook, Shelby Cook and Christian Quezada; and great-granddaughter Parker Null. He also leaves behind his greatly loved cat, Maury.

Doyle loved collecting old cars and vintage motorcycles. Rickman motorcycles were his favorite. Doyle lived an eventful life, and did some amazing things. He always had a story to tell and loved to tell them to anyone who would listen. He raced motocross, flat track, trials and many more. He also raced go carts and modified midgets. He always had his side kick, Warty, next him. Warty was his good luck charm.

Doyle and his stories will be truly missed. Keep riding in heaven without pain until we meet again.

Thank you to Hinds Hospice of Fresno and the palliative team at the Fresno VA. There will be no services as requested by Doyle.
