The reason why the Darrah School has been closed was revealed during Tuesday morning’s meeting of the Mariposa County Board of Supervisors.
The County announced last week the temporary closing of the school because of tree mortality issues. (See our story on Page A2.)
Mariposa County Chief Administrative Officer Dallin Kimble said Tuesday there are 27 to 30 trees that are threatening the infrastructure at the school property. Namely, he said, a playground area.
