Specialists from Mariposa Safe Families are engaging with local schools in a program aimed at keeping children safe.
Mariposa Safe Families is the local child abuse prevention council. The program is called Second Step, which is a child protection unit.
The program teaches children important skills for getting along with others and doing well in school. It also helps schools be safe and supportive places.
It is offered for students in transitional kindergarten through third grade.
