Prescription drug disposal event announced




Thursday, April 28, 2011  1:20 PM – On Saturday, April 30, the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will offer the public another opportunity to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs.

Resident can bring their medications for disposal to the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office located at 4963 10th Street from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Two other Mariposa County locations will be open for pill drop off at the North County Sheriff’s Substation One located at 10549 Fiske Road in Greeley Hill, and Sheriff’s Substation Two located at 9729 Merced Falls Road in the Lake Don Pedro subdivision.

The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.
