After three hours of deliberation, the Mariposa County Board of Supervisors voted 4-0 on Tuesday to place a measure on the November ballot to increase the transient occupancy tax (TOT).
The measure will now be added to the Nov. 6 ballot, and will require over 50 percent support from voters.
The measure proposes to increase the TOT by 2 percent. The current TOT rate in the county stands at 10 percent, and those funds make up a large amount of the county’s general fund.
