Phillip Owen Heim died suddenly and tragically on May 17, 2021.
Phil was born on Long Island, N.Y., on March 3, 1953. He attended Seaford High School, subsequently serving in the U.S. Navy Submarine Force as a nuclear trained machinist mate.
After completing his enlistment, Phil moved to Mariposa and obtained his law degree. He also earned his bachelor’s degree in architecture from CW Post College (now part of Long Island University).
He enjoyed living a quiet life surrounded by the natural beauty of California, taking great pleasure caring for his home and surroundings. He filled his time pursuing his passions for riding his motorcycles along with working in his machine shop manufacturing and customizing metal parts.
Phil was a kind and gentle soul with a big heart. Unassuming, gifted, compassionate, intelligent and possessing a quick, bright wit, he was always there to offer a helping hand to friends in need, and took much joy in discoursing with worldwide web friends on the finer points of constitutional law. He will be profoundly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Rita; father, Paul; and sister, Mary Beth.
He is survived by his stepmother, Mary; siblings Alicia, Paula and Paul II; nieces and nephews; and cousins. He was very fond of his Crawford cousins as they were of him.
In keeping with Phil’s wishes, there will be no service or ceremony. If anyone is so inclined, please make a donation to your favorite charity in Phil’s memory.
