Officials say 12,000 trees are a threat to County infrastructure

There are still more than 12,000 dead trees that are a threat to the infrastructure of Mariposa County.
That was the information given last week by Neal Bolton, owner of Blue Ridge Services, the company hired to lead the tree removal effort for the County.
“More will die,” said Bolton, adding bark beetles are now “thick” in some parts of the County.
The beetles attack Ponderosa pine trees, choking off the water supply and killing the trees.
