The Timber Lodge was a very popular venue in the 1940s and 1950s.Next to the north was Dawson Trail which was a bar, restaurant and dance hall once owned by Annabel Dawson (Kugler) and her previous husband. She had a daughter, Juanita, that took the Dawson last name. She was a bright, aggressive girl who served as legal secretary for at least two district attorneys and was a justice court judge in the 1940s and early 50s.
