Natasha Monique Lopez, 31, passed away at home April 14, 2020 in Anacortes, Wash.
Natasha was born July 9, 1988, in Anaheim, Calif., to Paul Lopez and Monika (Mayr) Brandle. She graduated from Mariposa County High School in 2006 and received her bachelors degree in Business Administration from South University on Feb. 1, 2017.
Natasha moved to Anacortes, Wash. with John Hetherington in 2009. She gave birth to a beautiful boy in 2010. She worked as an optician at Island Optometry and North Cascade. She was also a make-up enthusiast with Younique.
She supported the Adopt-A-Family program, raising Christmas funds for families. During the Covid-19 pandemic, she volunteered to grocery shop for those more vulnerable and coordinated with Island Hospital to donate her painting proceeds to fund front-line medical supplies.
Tasha loved spending time with family and friends, painting, dancing, bicycling, playing bunko, attending Fourth of July festivities, Seahawk 5k’s, Apple Cup WSU Cougar tailgates and playing softball. She treasured beach visits, especially trips to Mexico where she assisted in saving turtles.
She is survived by her son John Hetherington XII (12); parents Paul Lopez, Val (Carey) Lopez, William and Monika Brandle; siblings Cheyenne Lopez, Yulisa and John Brandle, William and Jessica Brandle, Francine and Shannon Landry, Aimee Carey, Mechaila and Everett Carey, Jessica and Chris Carey; grandparents Judy and Gary Bennet, grandparent Karin Mayr, aunt Michelle Myers, aunt Sabine and David Dalo, aunt Sheri Azevedo; cousins Suman and Michael Dalo, Ashton McKittrick, Britany Wells, Kayla Biggins, Emily Leighann, Chris Frelund, nephew Dakota Landry, boyfriend Eric and his son Kameron Deaton, and special friends Emma Luz, Othman and many more.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Eric Mayr; grandfather, Paul Lopez; aunt Stephanie Lopez; and great-grandparents Alice and Duncan Spencer and Henny Saegebrecht.
Natasha was magnetic. Her vibrant personality and contagious laugh lit up rooms. Anyone that met her would leave feeling that the world was a better place. When we look up she will be the brightest star shining!
