Monika Eva Brandle passed away peacefully in her husband’s arms in the afternoon of Oct. 27, 2020 after a long battle with cancer. She was born March 31, 1969 to Erich and Karen Mayr in Fontana, Calif.

She grew up in Home Gardens, Calif., where she attended elementary school. She said she “didn’t walk in the snow” but she did walk several blocks to school each day. Her parents signed her up for accordion lessons and she played for fun and won several competitions in the North American Federation of Accordion events. Her father’s dream was for her to teach accordion, which never came to fruition.

In 1987, she graduated from high school at Buena Vista but had attended most of her term at Corona High. She said she was “a bit of a rebel” in her teen years. In July of 1987, Monika and Paul Lopez welcomed their special little girl, Natasha Monique.

In 1990, Monika graduated from ITT with a degree in electronic engineering and a bachelors in automated manufacturing and moved with her family to Stockton and then later moved to Mariposa.

In July of 1991, Monika and Paul welcomed their second special little girl, Cheyenne Marissa. Paul and Monika later divorced. In 2002, Monika married William Brandle. Through the years, she worked at various jobs in Mariposa including Tavis and CKC Laboratories, until finally settling down at Sierra Telephone for 15 years. Monika said she met some incredible people along her way that are “truly chicken soup for the soul good.”

She is survived by her husband, William Brandle of Mariposa; mother, Karin Mayr of Corona; daughters, Cheyenne Lopez of Florida, Jessica Brandle of Mariposa, Francine Landry of Texas and Julie Brandle of Texas; sons, William Lee Brandle of Mariposa, John Brandle of Texas and Shannon Landry of Texas; brother Eric Mayr of Moreno Valley; sister Sabine Dalo of Tracy; brother-in-law David Dalo of Tracy; Nephews Sumi and Michael Dalo of Tracy; grandsons John Heatherington VII of Washington and Dakota Landry of Texas; and several overseas relatives in Germany and Australia.

She was preceded in death by Omas Henny Segeabrecht of Australia, Kathy Plabst of Germany, father Erich Mayr of Corona and daughter Natasha Lopez of Washington.

Monika was filled with overwhelming love and support from her many friends and family in the church, work, mountain communities and abroad. When she was well, she enjoyed volunteering at the Mariposa Grove as a greeter and enjoyed helping with special events. She loved the water, whether going to the coast or the lake. She liked biking, hiking, flying kites, gardening, traveling and puzzles. Most of all, and above all else, she loved spending time anywhere with her sweetheart, William.

She was known for her laugh and love of life She could light up a room and loved making people feel welcome. Her wishes were to have no funeral services, instead, her Facebook page will remain open and all are welcomed to post memories and final words. And all are welcomed to sit and enjoy the sunset and give a toast in her memory.

Monika is now holding her baby Tash in her arms. We will always keep her memory in our hearts. In lieu of flowers or gifts, Monika requests that donations be made to the Mariposa SPCA.
