Midpines woman is feared dead after car goes in river

Rescuers battling raging river conditions


A local woman is missing and feared dead after her car apparently went into the raging Merced River on Saturday night.
According to the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office, at around 11:15 p.m., Jennifer Victoriano-Manzanares, 26, Midpines, left work at the Yosemite View Lodge in El Portal and was heading home.
