The 102nd Commencement of Mariposa County High School will be held Friday, June 8 in the Gold Bowl of the Mariposa County Fairgrounds.

The ceremony will start at 8 p.m., and 84 seniors are set to graduate.

“The graduating class of 2018 is small but mighty,” said principal Celeste Azevedo. “What they lack in numbers, they make up for in personality, ambition and enthusiasm. I look forward to hearing about their future endeavors. I know they will go on to do great things.”

The commencement program will feature messages from Callie Nance, ASB president; Violet Matlock, senior class president; and remarks from valedictorians Cameron Yancey, Blake Atkins, Dawn Canapary, Quinn Whatley and Sami Norman. The keynote speaker is Gianna Hays, English teacher.

There will be a performance by members of the MCHS chorus.

Persons are asked to arrive early to ensure parking and seating.

The program will conclude with the awarding of diplomas from members of the school board.
