Officials from Mariposa County have taken action to address the longstanding issue of homelessness in the area.
Late last week, county health officer Eric Sergienko declared a health emergency in response to concerns associated with homeless camping. This led to a temporary shelter being established on Darrah Road at Darrah School. (See related story.)
“We have a responsibility to provide space,” Supervisor Kevin Cann said last week during a meeting of the Mariposa County Business Association.
