Joyce Stockman


 

 

Joyce Leialoha Hind Stockman was born to John and Ruth Hind on Oct. 25, 1943 in Honolulu, Hawaii. After Pearl Harbor the family moved to the mainland and made a new life in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles. Joyce married, gave birth to two daughters and enjoyed the company of family and friends, including some on the big screen.

Joyce had a love for Elvis, Hawaiian music, reading, animals and watching movies. Joyce lived a very simple life and made friends wherever she laid roots, which led her to Mariposa.

Joyce will be truly missed and loved by all whom knew her.

Joyce passed away battling cancer at her home on Oct. 26, 2018 with those family and friends that she held true to heart.

Joyce is survived by her brother Donald; daughter Kimberly and son in-law Pablo, daughter Renee and son in-law Larry; grandsons Andres, Giovanni and Cristian; great-granddaughter Angelia; and the Jarrett family and all of her Mariposa friends whom she always considered family.

A memorial service will be held at the Church of Christ at 5259 Highway 49 North in Mariposa on Nov. 3 at 11 a.m.

    Condolences to the family of Joyce. There was never a day that went by that she didnt have a beautiful smile on or cracking a witty comment. She made you feel like family. She was truly a wonderful soul♡
