John William Hamilton was born Dec. 27, 1961 in Sacramento, Calif. to Robert S. Hamilton and Jan Doris Emerson Hamilton. When John was four, his father was transferred to Seattle, Wash., where John spent the next 45 years before giving up his construction business to move to the family’s Circle Nine ranch in Mariposa to care for his mother. He found a love of taking care of the ranch and restoring it to its original beauty.
He left the area to go back to work, and died in Everett, Wash. on Feb. 24, 2019.
He is preceded in death by his father, Robert S. Hamilton in 2000; brother Robert S. Hamilton Jr. in 2011; and grandparents Dr. William Mills and Marion Emerson Mills, original owners of the Circle Nine Ranch in the Jerserydale area. John was very proud to be the third generation to live on the ranch.
He leaves behind his mother, Jan Hamilton of Merced, Calif.; three daughters, Ally (Cody) Mills, Taylor (Kyle) Campbell and Blair (Nick) Sadowski; four grandchildren, Forrest and Lively Mills and Indiana and Remington Campbell; brother Chris (Christa) Hamilton, all of Washington; sister-in-law, Elsie Hamilton and family of Hawaii; and several nieces and nephews. John also leaves behind his partner in crime, best friend and fiancee Susan Bower-Litzenberger of Mariposa, and the whole Bower family who accepted him as family.
John’s laughter and sense of of humor will be greatly missed. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
