New Covid-19 protocols have been implemented at the Mariposa County Jail after two inmates tested positive recently — the first recorded at the facility since the onset of the pandemic.
One of those inmates died as a result of the illness.
Mariposa County Sheriff Jeremy Briese said on Monday his department now has the new protocols, which include testing everyone at the jail daily — including the staff members.
