Hikers approached by lion



MOUNTAIN LIONS, LIKE THE ONE PICTURED ABOVE, ARE KNOWN TO PROWL YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK, BUT ARE RARELY SEEN.
On Dec. 24, two visitors hiking the Chilnualna Falls Trail in Wawona were approached by a mountain lion. The visitors acted appropriately by grouping together, waving a big stick, and yelling at the mountain lion. They also reported the incident to the Wawona Ranger Station after returning from their hike.
