Highway 140 reopens after rockfall




Highway 140/El Portal Road leading into Yosemite National Park has reopened after a large rock fell onto the roadway.  The large rock fell onto the roadway on Dec. 30, blocking traffic from entering or exiting the Park via Highway 140.  The rock was estimated to be approximately 10-15 feet high, six feet wide, and four feet deep.
No injuries or structural damage were reported due to the rockfall.  Damage
to the roadway has yet to be assessed.
