Harley Holderfield

Harley Wilson Holderfield of Mariposa left this world on June 10, 2021.

Born in Merced on Feb. 15, 1986, to Harold and Jan Holderfield of Mariposa, Harley spent most of his life in Mariposa.

In his youth along with his brother, Morgan, he learned songs and dances of the Miwuk and other indigenous cultures. The group gave presentations at schools, the Southwest Indian Museum in Los Angeles and for other groups.

While attending Mariposa County High School, Harley, his friend, Collin, and other friends of their played music, often at Collin’s home.

After high school, he joined the U.S. Army and served a tour of duty in South Korea.

Returning to Mariposa, he continued enjoying skateboarding and gaming with his friends.

Harley is survived by his mother, Jan Patrick-Holderfield; brother, Morgan Holderfield; several aunts and uncles; and many friends.

A celebration of life is being planned by the family.
