Gregory C. Snee, age 75, of Reno, Nev., passed away Sunday, Nov. 17, 2019 after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Santa Monica, Calif., on June 12, 1944 to Charles and Mildred Snee.
In 1962 he joined the Air Force and served for four years as crew chief during the Vietnam War.
Greg had a long and varied work history including cabinetmaker, finish carpenter and information technology and finance/accounting.
He enjoyed the wilderness and lived in California, Alaska and Wyoming. In 1988, Greg moved to Reno. He entered the casino industry and worked as an inventory/ warehouse manager. He retired from the Grand Sierra Resort in 2011.
Greg loved to garden and was known for growing hundreds of trees and many varieties of beautiful flowers. He loved to landscape and did decorative rock work. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge and mentoring those around him. He was known for his dry wit and had a great sense of humor.
In 1984, he brought home his first Parson Russell Terrier and thoroughly enjoyed the breed throughout the rest of his life. He often opened his home and property to host dog sport events. He enjoyed photographing the dogs and sharing with their owners.
Greg was preceded in death by his mother and father. He is survived by his wife, Carol; sister, Carole Snee, Mariposa; son, Jason Snee and wife Kaylie; grandson, Hayden, Phoenix, Ore.; granddaughter, Jessica Stone and great-granddaughter Breya, Flagstaff Ariz., granddaughter, Daylin Larsen, of Idaho Falls; daughter, Stacey Snee, Ravensdale, Wash.; and grandsons David Donnelly and Charlie Donnelly, Redmond, Wash.
The family is grateful for the support and care given by the St. Mary’s network, and especially to Summit View Hospice in his final days.
