Good news in snowpack: above normal water content

El Niño still poised to impact state

Frank Gehrke took measurements of the snowpack in the Sierra Nevada on Dec. 30. The snow was at 136 percent of normal.Some good news about the Sierra Nevada snowpack came last week.
The California Department of Water Resources did the first manual snow survey Dec. 30 and found that the water content in the snow is 136 percent of normal.
And that’s a relief to Californians who are still facing the possibility of another year of drought.
