A staggering amount of flu-related deaths this winter season has health officials urging Californians to receive the flu vaccine.
In fact, the state’s flu season could turn out to be one of the worst seasons in California in the last 10 years, officials said.
As of this week, 27 deaths due to flu were reported throughout California so far this flu season. This is in people younger than 65 years of age, as deaths due to flu in persons older than 65 years are not reported.
