Finally . . . rain drenches County



This culvert at the bottom of 6th Street pours into Mariposa Creek on Monday morning. It has been relatively dry for better than four years.The storm that brought smiles to everyone’s face Sunday night and Monday dumped more than two inches of rain in Mariposa and more than a foot of snow in the Sierra Nevada.
But it’s not the much-anticipated El Niño that brought the storm. Not yet, anyway.
