Deputy shoots suspect after being shot at during incident

A Mariposa man is in jail under $500,000 bond after being shot in a standoff by a deputy from the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office.

According to law enforcement officials, the incident began on Friday night at around 8:35 p.m. when sheriff’s deputies were attempting to serve an out-of-state temporary restraining order at a residence in the 4000 block of Dawn Road, which is located near Ben Hur Road off of Buckeye Road.
