He was preceded in death by his son, Tom; wife, Frances; father and mother, Joseph and Yvonne; along with six brothers and three sisters.
He is survived by his two brothers; daughter Peggy Debuyser (husband James); a granddaughter; two great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and dear friend, Mae Haste.
Gene met his wife in Washington, D.C., where they were both stationed. Gene was in the Army and Frances was in the Air Force. They both served from 1953-55.
They were married in Lewiston, Maine., in 1955. Gene was a master machinist for 52 years. He was a member of the Mariposa Fish and Game for many years where he was very active with fishing tournaments. Gene was an avid fisherman who loved water skiing and camping.Gene was an awesome husband and father who loved his family dearly and who will be dearly missed. Gene always had a joke to tell.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2018, at 1 p.m. at 4044 Ben Hur Road, Mariposa. Persons are asked to bring a side dish and a chair.
