Dawn Louise Carry (Haviland), 81, left this world peacefully on Jan. 7 to join her husband Patrick Carry, two of their children, William and Lynnette Carry (Wetmore), her parents and her Lord and Savior.
She was born March 28, 1937 in Eugene, Ore., to William and Dorothy Haviland. She attended high school in Eugene prior to her marriage to the love of her life, Patrick Carry, on May 3, 1954 in Eugene.
Dawn was a devoted and loving wife and is survived by her eldest son Patrick Carry II and her grandchildren, Rochelle Carry, Roxanne Carry (Malone), Russell Wetmore, Rosanna Wetmore (Anderson), Kristine Carry (Steele) and Raven Carry (Hann). Dawn was also the proud great-grandmother of 15 great-grandchildren and blessed to be a grandmother of one great-greatgrandson.
Dawn was an active member of the Mariposa community for 30 years. Volunteering her time to the Mariposa SCOPE department for over 20 years, she had the privilege of making a positive impact throughout the entire county.
She was faithful to God and attended church regularly at the Church of Christ for over 14 years. She was also part of the Red Hat Society, the book club, the dog training club and TOPS.
She had many friends and enjoyed her morning coffee as well as Friday night dinners with friends.
Dawn moved to Mariposa from Merced where she and her husband not only raised their family but were also active members of the Merced Channel Blazers CB club. Dawn knew the value of family, love and forgiveness. Not only did she take care of her family, but she also fostered children and would try to find a way to help anyone she knew needed it.
She will be greatly missed.
A celebration of Dawn’s life will be held at the Church of Christ at 5259 Highway 49 North, Mariposa, on Saturday, Jan. 26 at 11 a.m. Snacks and refreshments will be provided after the services.
In lieu of flowers or monetary donations to the family, please support Mariposa SCOPE department by making donations to that organization.
