Cougar hunter to be subject of program

A movie and program is set for this Sunday in Hornitos.
The 1924 movie “Cougar Killer” will be presented at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 4 at the International Order of Odd Fellows building at 6th and Main streets.
In 1918, Jay Cook Bruce was appointed the first California State Mountain Lion Hunter. He was born in Hornitos and grew up in Wawona where he learned to hunt from the local Indians.
