The controversy surrounding the United Methodist Church should not have much of an impact locally, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t concerns.
At issue is a vote by the church’s general conference last week which prohibits same-sex marriage and LGBTQ clergy. The vote came in spite of a recommendation from a specially-formed panel to adopt the “One Church Plan.”
