Collin Anthony Takash, 35, of Mariposa, passed away unexpectedly on April 9, 2021, at Kaiser Medical Center, Fresno, Calif.

Collin was born March 25, 1986, the second son of Anthony P. and Donna E. (Knapp) Takash. He graduated from Mariposa County High School in 2004.

In recent years, Collin’s battle with serious medical issues showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile. Despite the pain, Collin cherished life and family, all the while staying strong until the end. His loving heart left a beacon of light for those who knew him in the community.

Collin was formally employed at Ducey’s on the Lake in Bass Lake, Calif., and the Sugar Pine Café in Mariposa as a proud and talented chef. Besides his love of cooking, he enjoyed nature, the outdoors and being around friends and family. His selflessness and bright smile will be missed throughout the Mariposa community. We will never forget his sincerity, warmth and cheerful attitude.

Collin is survived by his son, Ezekiel Benjamin. He is also survived by his two brothers, Benjamin M. and Theodore E. Takash, his sister Elaine L. (Takash), her husband Brent A. Spotts and his parents Donna and Anthony. We celebrate Collin’s goodness, and his memory will be eternal.

The family thanks all those that have reached out in this time of grief to add comfort and support. We love you all.

A GoFundMe page has been set up for Ezekiel. Memorial services, time and location have yet to be determined.
