On May 4, 2019, Chris Burnett passed away at age 74 after a 20-year long battle with Parkinson’s disease.
He is loved and missed by his wife, Lene’ and their three grown children, Brian, Melissa and Leesa and his six grandchildren.
Chris was born in Bakersfield, where he spent his childhood under the California sun, learning to become an extremely hardworking and versatile man. He earned a degree in education at Fresno State where he majored in English literature in order to teach high school. It was there that he discovered his love of photography. Chris spent the balance of his lifetime with a camera in his hand, eventually creating a home filled with stunning photographs.
He loved the mountains, the changing seasons and the opportunity to build something beautiful. He was delighted by the wildlife that surrounded his home in Mariposa; a home he and his wife built in 1984. He loved to listen to music — jazz and classical — and was an accomplished musician himself who enjoyed playing in the local Inky’s Basement Band.
He was a gentle, kind, honest and loving man who will be missed so deeply by many.
