National Child Care Provider Day (also known as Provider Appreciation Day) falls each year on the Friday before Mother’s Day, this year on May 10.
The day was created by a group of volunteers in 1996 who wanted to recognize those who care for children and, acknowledge the countless hours spent providing this valuable service to their communities. The movement has since gained momentum and is now recognized at the state and national level.
