Housing has been a hot topic in Mariposa County for years. Time has passed, and the total number of dwellings has remained largely the same. It might have even shrunk between 2010 and 2020.
Preliminary U.S. Census Bureau data shows that Mariposa County’s population dwindled by roughly 1,100 residents in the last decade. During the same time, if you figure for the margin of error, the total number of housing units in the area has remained mostly unchanged — or even slightly declined.
