Carl was born in Tulare, Calif., of Italian immigrant parents, where he lived until he went off to college. He worked his way through college, attending College of the Sequoias in Visalia, CSU Fresno, and Chapman College in Orange, Calif., where he received his AA, BA and MA degrees in education, and was just a few classes shy of his PhD.
He married Earlene Strunk in 1958, who preceded him in death in 1970. Carl was a long-time teacher and coach, who began his career in 1959 teaching and coaching elementary school, middle school and high school, while at the same time pursuing his masters degree. In 1971 he moved on to teaching college and spent the next 25 years at Merced College, where he retired in 1996.
He is survived by his son, Carl Pedroncelli Jr.; daughter, Debbie Davis and her husband Paul; grandsons, Jacob and Jeremy Davis; sister, Dorothy Larimer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Richard, Fred and Alvin Pedroncelli, and his sisters, Rena Glispey, Elsie Frati and Adele Mahoney.
A private memorial was held by the immediate family. The outpouring of support, love, and prayers shown to the family during this time was sincerely appreciated.
