This Grumman S-2T airtanker made drops on the Bridgeport Fire off Old Highway on July 10. The aircraft type did anti-submarine duty for the U.S. Navy until 1972.Those big DC-10s airplanes that drop retardant on wildfires are becoming a common sight in the air above Mariposa County.
