Board gives go-ahead for assistant CAO

Focus will be on human resources

The board of supervisors voted 3-2 to remove the job opening for the Human Resources (HR) director and approved the addition of an assistant chief administrative officer (CAO) position — a structure that had once been implemented in the county prior to 2012.

Formerly scheduled for discussion at the last meeting, the board revisited the item at the Dec. 22 meeting after Supervisor Miles Menetrey of District Five admitted he was unprepared to take a vote.
