Bill Boyd


 

 

Bill Boyd, born Dec. 27, 1923, died on Nov. 15 in Newberg, Oregon.

He joined the Navy during World War II and served in several big battles, including Iwo Jima, where he was wounded and received the Purple Heart.

He was a member of the Church of Christ and loved to tell people about Jesus. He was very active in the Veterans of Foreign Wars, having signed up 50 new members. He was a charter member of the Sierranaders Country Band and loved to play the guitar and sing.

Bill is survived by his wife, Pearl of Newberg.

They were marred 72 years. He is also survived by a daughter, Teresa, and a son, David; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He loved everyone.

    Bill was a true patriot,I remember coming to work@ pg&e &bill was there to meet me and make sure I was getting all my veterans benifits.he was a man on a mission.sorry to here of his passing.gary cox
