Betty Lou Knell was born on Sept. 25, 1927 in Pennsylvania and died at 90 years old on June 20, 2018 in Fresno.
Betty is survived by her daughter in-law, Dell; grandsons Jim (Char), Shawn (Kristin) and Erik (Shay). She is also survived by six great-grandchildren: Charmaine, Ellura, Erik, Lilli, Michael and Toby; and great-great-grandson Castor.
Betty grew up in Pennsylvania, moving to Southern California in 1955. She worked for many years in the electronics assembly field, retiring in 1990. It was then that she moved to the Mariposa area to be close to family and build her home in Midpines.
Betty was a wonderful grandmother who doted on her grandchildren. Christmas was always a very special time for her. She baked and shopped, then filled her car like Santa filled his sleigh to bring goodies and gifts to her family.
Betty was known in Midpines as the little lady who walked for miles daily. She also loved serving at the brown bag and commodity distributions.
Her final years took away her short term memory, but she loved to dance and hear the music of her earlier years, her favorite song being, “I Come To The Garden.”
