She was Born in Hastings, Iowa on May 8, 1924. After graduating high school, Betty attended Council Bluffs Business School. For 12 years she worked for J.C. Penney’s in the accounts payable/receivable department and worked similarly for Bischoff Boats for 35 years.
Betty was preceded in death by many loved ones: Army Air Corp Captain Reuben R. Bischoff, her husband of 53 years; son, Bobby; her five sisters, Dorothy, Marjorie, Josephine, Billie Jean and Janet; and her son-in-law, Jim Greenfield.
She is survived by her son, Paul Bischoff; daughter-in-law, Carol Bischoff of Valley Springs and her daughter, Elizabeth Greenfield of Mariposa; grandchildren Reuben Bischoff, Rene Pamplona; son-in-law, Johnny Pamplona, Andrea Holt, Kelly Holt and Carol Holt; great-grandchildren, Marina Pamplona, Shawn Pamplona, Molly Drouin and Benjamin Mandell. Betty is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.
An avid traveler, Betty explored Canada, China, Mexico, Hawaii, Alaska and many other destinations.
A memorial service will be held Friday, Feb. 16, 2018 at Ivers and Alcorn Funeral Home in Merced at 1 p.m.
