Ben Dean


 

 

Benjamin “Ben” Dean, 39, of Clovis, Calif., died suddenly when struck by a car while celebrating his wedding anniversary in San Francisco on July 21, 2019.

Ben was born on Sept. 1, 1979 in Tacoma, Wash., to Glenn and Donna (Clark) Dean of Mariposa.

Ben worked as a program supervisor for Fresno County Social Services. He graduated from Mariposa County High School in 1997, received his Associates Degree, majoring in liberal studies, from Merced College in 2001, and his Bachelors of Science degree majoring in human services from Colorado State University in 2018.

Ben was an avid student, achieving many academic awards and honors. He excelled in soccer, cross country track and had a lifelong passion for art. Ben loved the outdoors, participating in Scouting and achieving the rank of Life Scout.

He was a thoughtful, kind and patient man. He had a lot of integrity and he always did what was right. He would go out of his way to help people. His family and friends will miss him greatly.

Surviving are his wife, Kelly; three sons, Reece, Dakota and Donovan; stepdaughter, Serena Leslie; sisters, Robin Conner and Lisbeth Dean of Mariposa; niece, Shasta Conner and nephews Nicholas Conner, Titus and Lyric Wilson of Mariposa; grandmothers, Mildred Hudson of Savannah, Ga. and Joyce Wharton of Fresno.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
