Alfred Bedard was born on Dec. 11, 1941, in Central Falls, R.I., and died on Aug. 25 in Mariposa after a long illness. He was 79.
He had lived in Mariposa for around 20 years. He worked in the pool service industry in the Los Angeles area for about 40 years before moving to Mariposa.
He was a member of the U.S. Army and after serving, moved to California.
He had a son, Daniel, from his first marriage and later he met and married his wife, Betty Carol (Prevol).
They moved to Mariposa and built a home.
Alfred comes from a family of 18 and after his death, there are eight remaining siblings.
He was a member of the New Life Christian Church in Mariposa. Alfred enjoyed working in his yard, reading and talking to people.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alice H. Bouchard and Aime Albert Bedard.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Carol Prevol, who is now living in Woodbridge, Conn. He loved his wife dearly. He is also survived by a son, Daniel J. Bedard; six sisters, Cecile Marginson, Elaine Bedard, Rita St. Jean, Corinne Duprey, Yvette Gagne and Denise Lee; and two brothers, Armand Bedard and Arthur Bedard.
