The results from a DUI checkpoint Saturday in Mariposa were sobering. According to Steven Lewis, public information officer with the California Highway Patrol, no arrests were made for drunk driving at the checkpoint setup on Highway 140 and 12th Street.
During the eight hours the checkpoint was operated, from 6 p.m. Saturday to 2 a.m. Sunday, 459 drivers were screened, Lewis said. Of that number, only eight had been drinking, and none were over the legal blood alcohol limit of 0.08. Lewis said...
