Covid cases are slowly decreasing



Case numbers are beginning to slowly decrease in the county, with 25 Covid-19 cases reported last week — less than half of the 54 cases reported in the week prior. Former SCOPE treasurer arrested on embezzlement and theft charges

A former member of a volunteer law enforcement group has been arrested and charged with embezzling funds. Ronald Glenn, 80, of Mariposa, was a member of the Sheriff’s Community Organized Policing Effort, or SCOPE, for many years. The 31st annual Mariposa Lions Club Crab Feed is set for Feb. 6. The event, held at Building A at the Mariposa County Fairgrounds, will feature drive-thru meals this year. Clara (Claire Aleen) Ashworth passed away in Fresno on Jan. 11, 2021, at the age of 97. She was born in Mariposa to Dick and Florence Wass.
