Burn ban in effect below 4,000 feet

Burning below 4,000 feet in Mariposa County is now banned. CAL FIRE implemented the burning ban last Friday morning. It was implemented by the Madera-Mariposa-Merced Unit of CAL FIRE and is for Madera County, as well. Open burning is still allowed above 4,000 feet with valid permits.
