Two local World War II veterans recall their time during war

Representatives of the VFW Post 6042 and the VFW Auxiliary presented checks totaling $1,500 to members of the Mariposa Gazette staff last week. The donations were for the Honor Flight Network, which provides veterans an all-expense paid trip to Washington, D.C., so they can visit the war memorials. Each flight costs $1,500 per veteran.
