Mae A. Sell, 86, a resident of Mariposa for the last 10 years and a native of Turlock and Oakdale, passed away on April 22, in Mariposa at her home surrounded by her family.
Mae was born on Aug. 12, 1921 in Delhi, to the late Henry Theadore and Helen (Leedam) Schendel. Mae graduated from Turlock High School in 1938 and then went on to serve her country proudly by enlisting in United States Navy in Washington on Dec. 16, 1943.

Melba (Smither) Peters, age 75 of Madera, died on April 24.
Melba was born in Merced and lived in Mariposa all her life until moving to Madera Convalescent Hospital 15 years ago after an auto accident.

Janie (Pryor) Severns was born in Phoenix, Ariz. on June 6, 1930 and died peacefully in Clovis, on April 27, 2008.
Her life was dedicated to her three children and seven grandchildren. She will be remembered for her love of education, books, gardening, and most of all, her close friends and family.
